Penny Tisdall

Penny is a registered specialist in small animal surgery. She graduated from the University of Sydney with a BSc(Vet) and BVSc. After working for several years in private small animal practice in western Sydney she returned to the University of Sydney to complete a Small Animal Surgical Residency starting in 1997. She has completed a Clinical Masters in aspects of feline megacolon and has contributed to over 25 published papers on various aspects of small animal surgery including perianal fistula, liver shunts, skin reconstruction, feline palatine and gastroduodenal ulcers.

She obtained Fellowship of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in 2002 by examination. Penny has worked exclusively in referral surgical practice for over 18 years and for the last 10 years has been living and working in Adelaide taking surgical referrals in private practice and more recently at the University of Adelaide Veterinary School. Her surgical interests are varied and include feline surgery, oncologic and reconstructive surgery and neurosurgery. Penny retains an active role in the ANZCVS surgery chapter education committee. She is the proud owner of 2 Devon Rex cats and 2 curly coated retrievers .
