Robert Johnson

Robert Johnson runs a small animal, wildlife and reptile practice in Penrith with his veterinarian wife Jane. He has also worked as a clinical veterinarian at Taronga Zoo. Robert holds a Certificate in Zoological Medicine from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons; is the President of the Unusual Pet and Avian Veterinarians Special Interest Group of the Australian Veterinary Association (AVA) and is the Australian/New Zealand representative to the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV) International Committee. His professional interests include veterinary clinical practice, particularly reptile medicine and research involving reptilian species of Australia and the South Pacific. Robert also lectures in reptile medicine, wildlife medicine and veterinary professional studies at James Cook University Townsville. He is the co-author (with Dr Brendan Carmel) of the recently released "A Guide to Health and Disease in Reptiles and Amphibians". In 2015, Robert was appointed President of The Australian Veterinary Association.
