The anatomical abnormalities of these breeds (which can make them very cute), does mean there are some special considerations to be aware of when anaesthetising them. This webinar looks at how these anatomical abnormalities can affect our patient’s stay in hospital and how they recover from their anaesthetic and procedure. We discuss the importance of pre-anaesthetic planning, monitoring in this pre-anaesthetic period and drug considerations and finally the recovery period. With careful planning and consideration combined with good communication between the veterinary team, we can reduce the stress of the situation and undertake a smoothly run anaesthetic in which your brachycephalic patient recovers with minimal concerns.
