Ultrasonography is a complex discipline to master.
How do you use vasculature as a “road map”? How do you reliably find the pancreas and adrenal glands? How do you get the opportunity to image the “normal” to identify the “abnormal”?
If you are time poor but need an intensive boost to help you gain more confidence with your imaging, here’s your chance to make it happen! Let Dr Karon Hoffmann work with you in an intensive, immersive 4-day course on Diagnostic Ultrasound. A visual discipline, Dr Karon Hoffmann has thoughtfully designed a program that will enhance your capacity to “think visually” so you can gain confidence and improve your scanning technique.
Karon’s program offers you essential foundational knowledge through her comprehensive theory sessions, complemented by hands on learning techniques such as kidney dissection and plasticine modelling of organs.
On days two and four you will be able to put what you have learned in the classroom straight in to practice as you hone your skills scanning live patients under the guidance of your expert tutors. At the CVE we follow strict ethical guidelines so scanning sessions with each dog are timed appropriately to ensure the animals in our care are comfortable and have a positive experience.
Karon is known Australia-wide as the ‘go to’ person for ultrasound as well as being a European Boarded Specialist in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. She will instruct and give you personal and immediate feedback on your scanning, and teach you tips and tricks that will make a huge difference when you get back to your practice. This course is designed for those ready to achieve a new level of competency in this widely applied discipline.
Past Participant:
'The ultrasound course certainly has made a great improvement to my skill set. I did two ultrasounds in the week following the course, and was presently surprised that I could find the adrenals, pancreas, duodenum and lymph nodes without too much effort.'

What is a Workshop?
Highly practical – develop the confidence to implement your new skills on your return to work
Practical workshops are an ideal way to build confidence and competence in your skills, as you put theory into practice.
Ideally balanced combination of theoretical and hands-on education, our workshops allow participants to obtain the most benefit possible through practical application of the skills being taught. Small group teaching with a high tutor to participant ratio will ensure that you benefit from individual attention from your highly regarded and experienced tutor/s. Nothing beats on-the-spot feedback as you learn a new procedure.
