Join the CVE, acclaimed speakers Kersti Seksal, Gonçalo da Graca Periera and other leading behavioural medicine specialists for this CVE conference, which promises to reveal the latest advances and best practices in the field of behavioural medicine.

This conference will have something for everyone – from the recent graduate, to GP vets and those with more advanced knowledge in behavioural medicine.

Veterinary nurses/technicians with a special interest in the topic are welcome to enrol in this course. Please be aware that the course is designed for qualified veterinarians and you should consider this in light of your knowledge and experience before you register.

Kersti Seksel graduated in Veterinary Science from the University of Sydney, then from Macquarie University with a BA in Behavioural Sciences majoring in psychology. She has an MA(Hons) degree and is a registered veterinary specialist in Animal Behaviour, a Fellow of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Animal Behaviour, a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists, and a Diplomate of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine. She is an adjunct senior lecturer at Charles Sturt University and a honorary associate at the University of Sydney. Kersti is the principal of a specialist practice for animal behaviour in Sydney and see cases around Australia. She is chair of the NSW Animal Welfare Advisory Council, a Board member of Delta Society and a member of the Special Council of the Pet Professional Guild Australia. She has presented at multiple conferences and meetings nationally and internationally and has published widely. She is a regular presenter on ABC radio in Australia on pet care and behaviour, writes for Dog's Life and is also a consultant to VIN. Kersti is the author and tutor for the CVE DE course in Behavioural Medicine.


Gonçalo da Graça Pereira is one of Europe’s most respected veterinary behaviour specialists. After studying veterinary science at Lisbon University, he undertook a master’s in clinical ethology in Madrid and a PhD in veterinary science in Portugal. As a Diplomate of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine in both subspecialties, he understands the links between physical and mental wellbeing in animals.

In addition to working in referral behaviour practice, Gonçaro is Director of the Centre for Animal Knowledge and Professor of Animal Welfare, Behaviour and Training in Escola Superior Agraria de Elvas from Instituto Politecnico de Portalegre. In addition, he is a founder and past-president of PsiAnimal – the Portuguese Association of Behavioural Therapy and Animal Welfare, President of the European College of Animal Welfare and Behavioural Medicine and Vice-President of the European Society of Veterinary Clinical Ethology. He is an engaging speaker with a wealth of practical experience.
