Sue joined the CVE in February 2014 as Education Program Developer. She graduated with a BVSc (Hons I) degree from the University of Sydney in 1986 then worked in private practice -firstly in mixed practice in East Maitland, then a small animal/wildlife practice in Springwood in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. While working at Springwood she completed a research MVSc looking at diseases and injuries of possums before returning to the University of Sydney in 1993 to begin a PhD investigating the mucosal immune system of possums and koalas and aspects of the host response of koala chlamydial disease. From 1996 to 2012, she was a teaching/research academic in the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney, with a particular interest in histology and marsupial anatomy, immunology and disease. She has co- authored 22 peer-reviewed journal articles, two book chapters and 29 conference presentations. Sue completed a Graduate Certificate in Educational Studies in 2003 and is passionate about providing the best possible experience for participants in the CVE’s continuing professional development courses.
