Lydia Hambrook
BVSc (Hons) FANZCVS (Registered specialist in small animal medicine)
Lydia’s desire to be a vet stemmed from her upbringing on a thoroughbred horse stud and her exposure to James Herriot’s All Creatures Great and Small. She graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2002 and worked in mixed practice in Kilmore, Victoria for the following 4 years. In 2008, she took the opportunity to work with two veterinary volunteer groups; the Esther Honey foundation in the Cook Islands and Vets Beyond Borders in India. Upon her return to Australia, Lydia completed a residency in small animal medicine at the Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre. In 2012, she gained her fellowship in small animal medicine through the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and became a registered specialist in small animal medicine. Since then she has been working at Advanced Vetcare in Melbourne. Lydia has also worked a Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine at the University of Melbourne and she is currently serving on the Board of Examiners for the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists.
