Janice is Associate Professor in Veterinary Behaviour, Welfare and Ethics at James Cook University’s Discipline of Veterinary Science. Janice teaches into all five years of the undergraduate veterinary science degree, as well as the Masters of Public Health, One Health major. Her research interests are in animal welfare science, animal behaviour, and human-animal relationships with a focus on service dogs. Janice also has a strong interest in educational research. She currently leads a team that instructs veterinary staff and students in the techniques of ‘low stress handing’ to create a low stress environment and handle animals in a less stressful manner in the veterinary hospital.
