- Describe when and where POCUS is used in the clinical setting
- Discuss patient positioning for POCUS and how POCUS differs from consultative (traditional) ultrasound eg. abdominal ultrasound, echocardiography
- Perform abdominal POCUS including identification of free fluid, pneumoperitoneum, renal pelvic dilation and post operative ileus as well as calculating urinary bladder volume
- Perform pleural space and lung POCUS and gain confidence in identifying pathology such as pneumothorax, pleural effusion and lung parenchymal changes.
- Perform cardiac POCUS and understand how this can be used to identify pericardial effusion and right and left-sided heart conditions.
- Use POCUS to track response to fluid therapy
