Merrin Hicks
BVSc (hons) MVSc FANZCVS (ECC)
Merrin is a graduate of the University of Sydney, and a registered specialist in emergency and critical care. She completed her residency training at Melbourne and Murdoch Universities, has undergone advanced surgical training in the USA, taught undergraduates at Universities in Australia and overseas, published various research papers, and completed a Master’s of Veterinary Science. Merrin has been a founding director of two multi-disciplinary specialist and emergency hospitals in Melbourne and continues to maintain a strong interest in leadership, start-ups and business development, as well as clinical interests in trauma and mechanical ventilation. Based at Peninsula Emergency and Referral Hospital, and currently undertaking a graduate certificate in veterinary education through the Royal College in London, Merrin is a Fellowship examiner for the ANZCVS. She lives on a farm with her wife and 2 children and enjoys all things outdoors in her spare time.
