BVSc DACVECC
Dr Ava Tan brings a wealth of expertise and passion to her role at SASH. Originally from Singapore, she earned her veterinary degree from the University of Melbourne before embarking on internships both in Australia and the United States. Ava completed her residency training at UC Davis and worked as a senior lecturer at Massey University. Her professional interests span coagulation disorders, trauma management, acid-base balance, and electrolyte abnormalities, areas in which she is recognised for her contributions to veterinary medicine. Dr Ava is dedicated to education and training, which is evident through her establishment of a vet-focused website in emergency and critical care. Beyond her clinical work in the ER/ICU, Ava finds joy in hiking with her pocket figurines, capturing photos of mushrooms, and indulging in watercolor painting. She has a penchant for desserts, particularly while savouring a cup of tea and enjoying afternoon naps with her two cherished cats.
