Katie McCallum

Katie graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2009 and spent five years in small animal practice before completing a rotating internship at Northwest Surgeons. She subsequently joined the Internal Medicine team at the Queen’s Veterinary School Hospital (QVSH) as a Senior Clinical Training Scholar from 2015 to 2018. She is now an Associate Teaching Professor in Small Animal Medicine.
Katie has a strong and evolving passion for feline medicine, with current clinical and research interests spanning hepatology, endocrinology, urology, and infectious diseases. She is deeply committed to advancing education in the field: she is a member of ISFM’s expert panel and, within the hospital, the Cat Advocate for the ISFM Gold Cat Friendly Clinic. She is also Director of the Junior Clinical Training Scholarship Programme. She has 1 gorgeous black cat called Albie as well as a toddler at home keeping her busy.
