Prof. Hobi graduated from the Vetsuisse Faculty, University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2007. After two years as a clinician, and a doctoral thesis about hypersensitivity disorders in cats, he completed a 15-month internship in a large small animal hospital in Switzerland. To bring his great passion closer, he then commenced a three-year residency in animal dermatology at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, Germany.
He has authored and published multiple articles and case reports in veterinary and human dermatology journals and he is also a reviewer of the international Veterinary Dermatology journal.
At the moment he works as an Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences of City University in Hong Kong. He is part of the administrative committee of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology (WAVD), the current chair of the Examination Committee and Vice President of the Asian College of Veterinary Dermatology (AiCVD) and a program co-chair of the ECVD-residents education day.
Prof. Hobi has a great research interest in infectious diseases, in particular Malassezia, Candida, Fusarium and Dermatophytes, their resistance pattern and the transmission between humans and animals as part of the One Health concept.
