Robert Johnson AM
BVSc MANZCVS (Feline Medicine) CertZooMed BA FAVA AM
Robert graduated BVSc from the University of Sydney in 1977 and has worked in mixed, small animal, zoo, wildlife, and reptile practice. A Past President and Fellow of the Australian Veterinary Association, Robert is also a member of the ANZCVS (Feline Medicine) and holds a Certificate in Zoological Medicine from the RCVS. For many years he has presented and written widely on reptile and wildlife medicine. He is the co-author of 'A Guide to Health and Disease in Reptiles and Amphibians' and a co-editor of 'Reptile Medicine and Surgery in Clinical Practice'. Since 2018 his practice has focused more on zoo and wildlife medicine, and livestock welfare. Robert is currently chair of Vets Beyond Borders, an academic tutor and mentor at The University of Sydney and a member of the NSW Government Animal Welfare Advisory Council. In his spare time, he draws cartoons and tries to learn stuff. In 2021 Robert was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for significant service to veterinary science, and to professional societies.
