Darren graduated from Melbourne University in 1984. After three years in private practice he returned to Melbourne University, first as an intern and then as a resident. Darren completed a residency at Bristol University, UK before returning to Australia to gain fellowship of the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 1994. After obtaining fellowship, Darren established a private medical referral service in Melbourne where he became the senior partner in the medical department of the Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Service. Darren is one of the leading internists in Australia; he has spent a lifetime in specialist small animal practice and has taught and mentored hundreds of veterinarians. He is a frequent conference speaker, regularly examines and mentors for the ANZCVS and has trained and supervised many residents. Darren is one of the tutors of the CVE Internal Medicine - Keys to Understanding DE course.
