Gus Ruiz
DVM MSc MANZCVS (Reproduction) Dipl. ACT
Gus is a registered specialist in Reproduction with experience in advanced reproductive technologies. Originally from Argentina, he completed his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and initial training in equine reproduction, working primarily with Criollo and Polo Pony horses. He later moved to Qatar, where he led the development of a commercial equine embryo transfer program focused on Arabian show horses. Gus pursued postgraduate studies at Washington State University (USA), earning a Master of Science degree and completing a comparative Theriogenology Residency under the mentorship of Dr. Ahmed Tibary. Gus is a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists and a member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (Animal Reproduction Chapter). Since relocating to Australia in 2020, he has worked in private equine practice across the Hunter Valley, Victoria, and the Hawkesbury region. His clinical interests include assisted reproductive technologies, mare and stallion infertility, and subfertility management. Gus currently serves as a Registered Specialist in Reproduction and Senior Clinician at the University of Sydney’s Camden Equine Centre.
