"Animals are fascinating! How and why they do what they do is so interesting to me – the way the brain functions, how an animal’s development, environment and learning all interact to influence the way it behaves. As in human psychology, psychiatry and brain function knowledge is increasing and we are starting to learn really exciting and interesting new things in this field. Seeing the transformation of a terrified and nervous animal, with gentle and appropriate care, to enjoying life along with the owner’s wellbeing also improving is very rewarding." Dr Bronwen has worked in general practice, zoo medicine, research and welfare over the last 20 years. She has always been fascinated by animal behaviour and this interest has grown into managing behaviour patients in her dedicated Veterinary Behaviour practice. Dr Bronwen holds several degrees and qualifications: Bachelor of Veterinary Science, a Master of Veterinary Science and Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists Veterinary Behaviour Chapter. She is also the current President of the Veterinary Behaviour Chapter of the ANZCVS and is on the Expert Advisory Committee of the Delta Institute. Dr Bronwen regularly presents at conferences, continuing education seminars and programmes for other veterinarians, veterinary nurses and animal trainers. She believes that ongoing education is vital to improving outcomes for her patients and their carers, and enthusiastically learns from others and shares this knowledge.
