Managing Traumatic Brain and Spinal Injury EmergencyLIVE!

Led by Dr Suzanne Tso, this session covers the recognition, triage, and early management of traumatic brain and spinal injuries in small animals, with a strong emphasis on preventing secondary injury and protecting neurological function.

We will review practical neurological assessment techniques, airway/breathing/circulation priorities, safe fluid and analgesia protocols, seizure control, and ICP-friendly nursing strategies. Key diagnostics and monitoring tools suitable for general practice will be highlighted, along with guidance on when to pursue advanced imaging or referral.

Evidence-based prognostic scores (MGCS & ATT), communication tips for owners, and common pitfalls will be discussed, supported by real-world case examples to enhance clinical confidence.
