Take your dentistry to a more advanced level and improve the health and welfare of your patients.
Periodontal and dental diseases are arguably the most common issues seen in small animal practice, yet many vets feel intimidated or inadequate, when faced with a complex dental case that may require more than just a scale and polish.
This course is targeted at an intermediate level, for those veterinarians, who have some experience in performing dental procedures, but would like to go further with their dentistry.
The course aims to help the participant treatment plan a dental case (the key to predictable patient outcomes), to perform efficient and atraumatic extractions (for both you and the patient), to offer pre-emptive analgesia for your dental patients, through the demonstration of local anaesthetic nerve block techniques and how to take and interpret dental radiographs.
Together, these skills will help you avoid the more common pitfalls that can lead to iatrogenic complications such as lost roots, fractured roots, and even fractured jaws. Additionally, you will learn about the currently available homecare products in Australia and the evidence (or lack of) behind these products.

Fantastic Course! I learnt so much about interpreting dental radiographs, when to extract and local anaesthetics that I now feel more comfortable and confident tackling dentals in general practice! I thoroughly recommend this course!
